Panels address maximizing human capital and exit planning for companies in the lower middle market
New York, March 13, 2017 – Michael Pfeffer, Managing Director of Post Capital Partners, recently participated in an Opus Connect New York chapter panel on Maximizing Human Capital to Drive Private Equity Returns. Christopher Cheang, Director, Head of Business Development, also took part in a Chicago chapter panel on Investing in Family Owned Businesses with Institutional Capital. Opus Connect is an invitation-only professional organization focused on lower middle market and middle market M&A.
Mr. Pfeffer addressed the factors involved in the selection process of a management team and the use of executive coaching as a tool for maximizing returns. “From our perspective, maximizing human capital involves partnering with talented industry executives from deal sourcing to deal exit,” he said. “Because world class senior managers are the key to growing great companies, all our investments begin by partnering with outstanding executives through our Executive-First strategy.”
Mr. Cheang addressed the the importance of thoughtful succession planning for family-business owners and how private equity can play an important role in the process. “Many family business owners, particularly in the lower middle-market, do not fully understand private equity and how it can be the best option for them to achieve their desire for liquidity and wealth diversification, as well as to have a partner to help drive the growth of the business,” said Mr. Cheang.
