Event convened senior military logisticians and engineers to discuss strategies for mission support and rapid deployment
(Parsippany, New Jersey) – 11 March 2019 – Eugene Sobecki, Director, National Sales & Military Business and Steve Danner, Military Sales and Marketing Manager at Acrow Bridge, a leading international bridge engineering and supply company, were featured speakers at Combat Support Week, which took place February 26-28 in London. The event provided senior military logisticians and engineers with strategies to enable mission support and rapid deployment in a variety of environments.
Danner’s presentation, “Solving Logistical Challenges of the New NATO STANAG MLC Requirements” discussed the importance of having a rapid surge capability including prepositioned stocks of rail, wet and dry and emergency bridging to ensure unimpeded ground mobility. Later, Danner was joined by Sobecki to facilitate a Force Mobility workshop, which explored military planning and interoperability as well as NATO partner nation response to regional infrastructure deficits.
“In many cases, the success of combat as well as peacekeeping operations and humanitarian relief efforts depends on the military’s ability to deploy rapidly in a variety of environments,” said Danner. “Acrow’s modular steel bridges are designed to military standards and capable of supporting heavy vehicles under a variety of conditions. They are ideal for addressing time-sensitive infrastructure needs, and components can be quickly transported, assembled, and reused wherever they are needed.”
Added Sobecki, “Because of its unique attributes, the Acrow 700XS bridge system has been selected as a standard Line of Communication Bridge for logistical support by military organizations around the world. In addition to ongoing deployment needs, Acrow’s modular steel structures are ideal for use in responding quickly to national emergencies, including natural disasters such as landslides, avalanches, earthquakes, and floods.”
Now in its second year, Combat Support Week, a combination of the previous Military Engineering and Defence Logistics events, addresses the critical requirements of combat engineers and military logisticians to deploy and maintain forces in theaters of operation. The event was chaired by General Sir Peter Wall, Chief of the General Staff, British Army (2010-2014).
